We do not have the capacity to discuss orders over email. We are busy baking and serving our customers. Wedding cake season is upon us. There is no reason to go any where else. Our wedding cakes are beautifully decorated and skillfully and securely put together. The cakes are tall, moist and delicious and covered to perfection in your choice of tastey icings. When you order your wedding cake from us, you won't be disappointed. Birthday party or special occasion? Theme the cake!
The Gristmill bakery is an expert at custom cake decorating. Bring in a card or napkin and we can theme your cake to really make a party. So beautiful and perfectly decorated some people think it's a shame to cut our cakes, but you must! Our cakes are delicious and made to eat! Feeding a group? Planning an event?
For special events and parties we have a number of light catering options including an array of spectacular deli trays and hot items such as home made quiche and lasagna. We can help you feed your guests and you can relax and enjoy the party. We also specialize in lunches for sporting events, golf-tournaments and conferences. From brown bag lunches to spectacular fruit and deli trays, we'll make any gathering a memorable eating experience.
Need a Good morning wake-up call?
We do coffee, espresso and breakfast. We brew a wide variety of coffees ready to go and custom make espresso just the way you like it. Coffee beans are sold by the pound and ground to your specification. If you are too sleepy to remember how you like your coffee, don't worry, we'll remember for you.
Hungry for lunch? We make more than sandwiches.
The Gristmill Bakery and Deli has an extensive lunch menu. It's not just sandwiches! Choose from hot soups, home-made salads, pizzabread, lasagna, quiche or wraps. We also make burgers and serve them up on our very own home-made hamburger buns fresh from the oven.
About Us & How to order
The Gristmill is family owned and operated and we have been serving Lake of the Pines, Grass Valley, Auburn, Nevada City and other communities around Nevada County since 1992. Conveniently located on Combie Road off Highway 49 between Auburn and Grass Valley, we service many loyal customers along Highway 49 and Interstate 80. We are located next to the Holiday Market in the Lake Center shopping center.
Our Main Menu
We have a diverse product line of freshly baked breads and bakery goods, a full deli that hosts a variety of meats and cheeses and homemade salads.
If you aren't convinced by our mouth-watering pictures and our scrumptios daily menu items, we'd like to invite you in for a visit. Nothing is better than the real thing, especially when it comes to eateries.
You can sit down and enjoy a meal or snack, café style or you can order by phone, pick up and take-out for a meal on the run. You can also drop in for your daily staple - fresh bread - and other great food items such as pies, cakes, meats, cheeses and salads. We can cook up your next meal or special occasion.
We work really hard and very long hours to make great food. We take and discuss orders over the phone. We are not set up to respond quickly to email inquiries. No orders will be considered with out a confirmation phone call. We want to get your order right and make the order process efficient. For us, that means we take orders by phone, so give us a call.
